THE REBELLION OF 1837-1838 Name :Tutor Course :Date :University :Canada , like any other colony in the hands of the British , underwent an armed struggle in the bid to redeem itself from the yoke of colonialism .The rebellion of 1837-1838 refers to the armed uprisings that took place simultaneously both in the lower and in the Upper Canada . The key reason behind this confrontation was to voice the populace ‘s frustrations with the colonists system of administration and agitate for political reforms with an intention of pushing towards a more responsible government .
